Most microfibre cleaning cloths tend to be lint free. This is because they are made from synthetic fibre that is finer than one denier (around a fifth the diameter of a human hair). These tiny fibres, made into a structure which traps dirt and absorbs liquid, leaves no ‘fluff’ or ‘dust’ behind unlike other materials such as cotton. This can be very important for cleaning.

 One type of microfibre cloth, made from micro suede blends for a soft plush feel, do leave lint behind.
